Terms of License

Last updated: April 2026

1. Agreement

By purchasing, downloading, installing, or using any Aurora Platform software product ("Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of License ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not purchase, install, or use the Software.

These Terms apply to all Aurora Platform products including Aurora, Aurora Continuum, Aurora Sentinel, and Aurora Assessment.

2. Definitions

  • "Software" — the Aurora Platform product(s) you have purchased a license for
  • "License Key" — the unique key issued to you upon purchase that activates the Software
  • "Seat" — one activation of the Software on one machine or Docker instance at a time
  • "Annual License" — a license valid for 12 months from the date of purchase, as applicable to the purchased tier
  • "You" — the individual or legal entity purchasing or using the Software

3. License grant

Subject to these Terms and payment of the applicable license fee, Selectred grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:

  • Install and use the Software on the number of seats covered by your license
  • Use the Software for personal or commercial purposes without restriction on your output (including test reports, generated files, exported assessments, or dashboard data)
  • Access updates and new features released within your current license term

This license is granted for the duration of your license term. It does not transfer ownership of the Software or any intellectual property rights.

4. License types

Perpetual licenses (Aurora desktop products)

Aurora and Aurora Assessment are sold as perpetual licenses — you may use the version purchased indefinitely after a one-time payment.

Annual licenses (Docker platform products)

Aurora Continuum and Aurora Sentinel are sold as annual licenses. Your license is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. After 12 months, the Software will continue to function but will revert to Free tier behaviour until the license is renewed.

To renew, purchase a new license from selectred.com. Existing customers will be offered a renewal discount where applicable.

5. Early adopter pricing

Certain tiers are offered at an early adopter price for a limited period. Early adopter licenses are full licenses with no functional restrictions. The discounted price applies only at the time of purchase; future renewals will be at the then-current standard price unless otherwise stated.

6. Seat limits and activation

Each License Key may be activated on one machine or Docker instance at a time. The License Key is bound to a machine identifier on first activation.

If you need to transfer your license to a new machine, deactivate it from your account dashboard at selectred.com/account and re-activate on the new machine. If you are unable to deactivate (e.g. the machine is no longer available), contact support@selectred.com.

Multi-seat and Enterprise licenses are governed by the terms of the individual purchase agreement.

7. Restrictions

You may not:

  • Copy, distribute, resell, sublicense, or transfer the Software or your License Key to any third party
  • Share your License Key with others outside your organisation
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software or attempt to derive its source code
  • Remove, disable, or circumvent any license validation, activation, or copy-protection mechanisms
  • Use the Software on more seats simultaneously than your license permits
  • Use the Software to build a competing product or service
  • Misrepresent the origin or ownership of the Software

8. Updates and new versions

Within a license term

Your license includes all updates — including minor versions and feature releases — published during your active license term at no additional cost.

Major version upgrades

Major version upgrades (e.g. v1 → v2) are separate releases. Existing license holders will be offered an upgrade at a discounted price. A major version upgrade is not included in an annual license renewal unless explicitly stated.

9. Self-hosted software

Aurora Continuum and Aurora Sentinel are delivered as Docker images and run entirely within your own infrastructure. Selectred does not access, monitor, or receive any data processed by the Software within your environment.

You are responsible for securing, maintaining, and backing up your deployment, including Docker volumes, database contents, and configuration files.

10. Intellectual property

The Software — including all source code, design, documentation, and associated materials — is and remains the exclusive property of Selectred. These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The Software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Selectred does not warrant that the Software will be free from errors, that operation will be uninterrupted, or that defects will be corrected.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Selectred shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use the Software.

Selectred's total aggregate liability to you for any and all claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the total amount you paid for the license in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

13. Termination

These Terms remain in effect for the duration of your license term unless terminated earlier. Your license terminates automatically and without notice if you breach any provision of these Terms. Upon termination you must cease all use of the Software, deactivate your License Key, and destroy all copies in your possession.

Selectred may also terminate or suspend your license if you use the Software in a manner that violates applicable law.

14. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post changes to this page and update the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will notify customers by email. Continued use of the Software after updated Terms are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
